{UAH} PARLIAMENTARY CORRESPONDENTS NEED RECOGNITION

FELLOW countrymen and country women, even parliamentary correspondents
who have covered parliament for decades, need recognition. Some may be
dead but there are still living ones like Simon Mwebe who was covering
for Munno in the sixties, Kiggundu, Sebaana Kizito who covered for
Taifa or Munno in the sixties, Apolo Nsibambi who covered for Taifa
Uganda Empya in mid sixties, who later became Rakai LC V Chairperson,
who was covering NCC for Munno in 1979 and 1980, George Kawule who
covered parliament for Uganda Times, New Vision and Bukedde and even
covered East Africa Legislative Assembly, Basalirwa who covered NRC in
late eighties for New Vision, Tamale Mirundi who covered 1980-1985 and
NRC and C.A. up to 1995 for Munno, Lipoota and Uganda Argus, John
Kakande, who covered NRC, C.A. and 6th parliament for the Star, The
Citizen , The New Vision, Geofrey Kulubya who covered for NRC Ngabo
and Bukedde in 1990-95, Ahmed Kateregga who covered NRC 1993-96, C.A.
1994-95 and subsequent parliaments,and many and many others like
Serugga Matovu of Star FM, Semuju Ibrahim NG'ANDA OF Monitor and
Observer, Mercy Nalugo of Bukedde, Njuba Times and Monitor, Juliet
Kakeeto of Bukedde, Njuba Times and New Vision. Annet Namukasa who
covered NRC, 6th Parliament for Munno and Bukedde among others. They
need recognition.
