{UAH} STATEMENT FROM UFA U.K CHAPTER.....

Fellow Citizen;

The recent statement by Betty Kamya in support of Museveni's hegemony as reported by Matooke Republic August 31, 2016 was careless and merits denouncing. Some of the mainstay of the federal principle is the rule of law, the respect of the constitution and the empowerment of all and sundry. Which emphasizes among others; limit to power, limit to terms and limit to age. For Betty Kamya to give support to yet another Museveni reign come 2021 is irresponsible and goes against the federal principles.

Betty Kamya as a leader of UFA and appointed to work in the NRA government should realise that, her first and foremost responsibility is towards the ideals of the party. Those ideals cannot be compromised at any cost. Her statement tramples on the very ideals that she and others who have supported the party, hold dear. As a party leader and founder, she looks set to throw away her baby in order to carry somebody else's notorious child. We as party members will be throwing the books at her with a yellow card as a minimum exhortation as expression of dissaproval. 

Finally, I would like to appeal to supporters of the federal ideals and those of Betty Kamya to know that the party interest will be upheld at all cost and our quest for federalism as a future system of governance in Uganda, has not been compromised either by Betty Kamya's appointment and acceptance of, or her irresponsible utterance. The struggle and our goal remain the same...
