Otafiire made the remarks while launching the Prosecution Case Management Information System (PROCAMIS), a digital platform for the management of public prosecutions cases by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Have you been following the most dramatic US presidential campaign trail in recent memory? Well, Justice Minister Kahinda Otafiire too has been following the election. It turns out; he is a big Donald Trump fan.
"This morning I woke up very early to watch the debate in America, if I was an American, I would vote Mr. Trump. He taught me one thing; that the media can rig elections. I did not know that the media was in charge of elections in the United States, I thought it was a government agency, well, I am not an American so I will not comment," he said today at Imperial Royale Hotel.

Trump, the Republican candidate for the most powerful political office in the world, has had a love-hate relationship with mainstream media in the United States. He has cultivated that the media is biased against him and in favour of Democratic Party rival Hillary Clinton.
"If he was in Uganda, I do not know how many wars he (Trump) would fight with the media because they are not exactly objective, they serve their own interests. While they serve their own interests, without breaking the law, you give them respect," he said.
He even joked that he would request a Ugandan to go observe the November vote in the United States.
"Perhaps I may ask Dr (Badru) Kiggundu to go and observe elections in America."
