you remember events wrongly.  Al Gore waited for almost ONE YEAR before he conceded...even then, democrats did not accept the results...as shown last week:

Al Gore did not reject the election. First he conceded but because all close poll results trigger a mandatory recount, Al Gore rescinded his earlier concede and followed the process. I think that is how I remember the events.
