{UAH} President Uhuru Kenyatta's son Jomo engaged to a Ugandan, Ms Achola Fiona Ngobi

Folks

Kenyan media has been reporting half truths about the pending wedding between Jomo Kenyatta, President Uhuru Kenyatta's eldest son and Ms. Acholla Fiona Ngobi who is being referred to as from ‘Nyanza’.  The lay is actually a Kenyan of Ugandan descent.

Ms. Acholla Fiona Ngobi is the daughter of Ms. Ruth Theddesia Ngobi sister to Defense Minister Raychelle Omamo.  Her father is Mr. Ngobi, a Ugandan lawyer who served in Rwakasisi’s NASA and fled to Kenya after the 1985 coup.

Mr. Ngobi went on to practice law in Nairobi.  It was rumored he was helped by Dr Koinange-a musoga lady-married to then Director of Medical services and later Treasury PS, Dr. Karuga Koinange, and a sister to one of Ngobi’s mentors.

Fyi, Mr. Ngobi is not directly related to former minister Mathias Ngobi, but comes from Busoga.

And, Oh, yes Ngobi’s wedding to Theddesia Omamo, whose father was then cabinet minister in Moi's regime was a flashy affair.

Sadly, the last I heard the marriage had fallen apart. And of the last images seen of Mr. Ngobi was bed ridden in Karen hospital, the ay the hospital was being officially opened by President Kibaki-his personal doctor, Dr Gikonyo owns it.

So Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta's son, Joma is marrying a Ugandan from the Busoga ethnic group, albeit born in Kenya. Her mother is a big short serving on several corporate boards. At the time of her wedding to Mr. Ngobi in the late 80s in Nairobi, she was the company secretary for East African Industries, the makers of Kimbo and Omo among others.   At the time Mr. Joe Barage Wanjui one of Mr. Kibaki's greatest backers was the CEO and Chairman of EAI.

I wanted to correct the record: The proper narrative should be that Jomo Kenyatta Jr is engaged to a Kenyan of Ugandan descent.
