Team guru, a team of five students from Makerere University in Uganda have successfully created an app that detects vaginal bacteria.

The app, in combination with a test kit called her health BVkit, takes readings from urinal / vaginal samples and transmits the data for examination. After receiving the data, the mobile application reads the pH levels, analyzes the amount of healthy versus unhealthy bacteria, and provides a recommendation if you are healthy or should seek medical attention.

The application also uses health information from a nearby hospital to provide information on preventive measures and vaginal infections.

Bacterial vaginosis is a vaginal condition that is characterized by abnormal vaginal discharge and results from an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina.

In a video posted on YouTube, the team clarify exactly how they made the app
