A mother of four is stranded in a Jinja hospital after giving birth to triplets. Ms Salima Namulondo, a widow, reckons that she cannot look after the three children in addition to four other children without regular support from well wishers.
Although she delivered late last week, without any hitches, in a private healthcare centre, Almeca Medicare, the resident of Buyala in Budondo Sub-county, said in an interview that she has been engulfed in deep thoughts lately, over the future of her children.
The 29-year-old said she has no idea how she will take care of the triplets on her own, because she is poor and unemployed.
Namulondo's husband was killed in July when she was already pregnant. She said her husband was a victim of mob justice and was confused for a thief, before being lynched.
"The father of my babies was killed by unknown people during the agricultural show in July this year. I am just a house wife. I do not have anything that generates money so I am not sure how I will take care of these children," Ms Namulondo said.
To relieve her of some of the pressure, the hospital where she delivered from decided to render their services free of charge, saying it was unlikely she could afford medical fees ranging from Shs600,000-Shs800,000.
