{UAH} Frank, Nambooze reveals what Uganda exports to USA
Mr. Frank Mujabi,
The other day, on another thread, we passively touched on the matter of what Uganda has to offer the US market. You noted that there were no more coffee exports and i supplemented that we have no milk pumping the same direction.
Now, on a day in the week gone by on CBS Kiriza oba gaana programme hosted by Mr. Meddie Nsereko, they were discussing the outcome of the US elections. In studio were MPs Allan Ssewanyana, James Kakooza and someone called, is it Pentagon?
From outside the studio, Muhammad Nsereko called in from Nairobi.
Betty Nambooze also phoned in from her home. She wasn;t feeling well after a trip abroad. She admitted having been pro-Hillary on gender basis. That she was eager to see a woman President in the US as an inspiration all over.
Among her reasons for not taking to Trumpism was the over-hyped plan to ship off illegals. She then categorically stated that "we no longer export anything to the US except our sons and daughters who go there to look for opportunities". That there was no way she could back someone threatening to disgorge breadwinners who keep their families back home alive.
Okay how she stated the bit about exporting Ugandans; graphically, i thought it was something to dig into more strategically. Are we exporting human resource or practicing enslavement of our own people? Is the gov't interestedd, policy-wise, in the arrangement(s)? Can the Americans rely on our "sons and daughters" who cannot develop their own countries? How many Ugandans are under threat if Trump makes good on his proclamations? What does it take to feed the US market with produce?
On the milk angle, this whole year i have been involved with some guys with a concept worth 770milion dollars. It involves circulating Uganda with milk and the rest for export. The American side wants milk that hasn't been seen by the naked human eye till the point of consumption. How do we actually dispatch more goods and less human resource or both and for a good return?
The way Nambooze expressed herself was like she had no plan at all in that direction but to continue hoping that abazaana and abaami ba Kabaka find their level whichever way.
Trump alabye!
