The peril of fake marriages is real! 

Ugandans should pay attention to this growing trend. Marriage of convenience is as old as prostitution. In fact, the two are born out of the same premise: fake love and profit from it.

And this marriage goes both ways: Ugandans who wish to escape the country, enter into sham marriages with natives of their desired destination country. 

As these MPs warn here, there's a wider consequence to this habit: a foreign criminal marries a Ugandan in order to qualify for a visa to a third country.

This criminal, now bearing a Ugandan passport, will cost Ugandans in the long run.
