Dear Shamim Nateebwa,

In uour article in Daily Monitor, Tuedsay, November 29, 2016, page 6, you state that, Buganda is the oldest kingdom in Uganda. You are totally wrong.

You are writing like patriotic Baganda who have no shame in telling lies about Buganda.

In case you are ignorantly innocent, pleaze be educated that Buganda was born when Omucwezi Kato, twin brother of Isingoma Rukidi Mpuuga, rebelled after he was appointed admnistrator of Muhwahwa, and turned it into a kingdom thus being the first Mubiito king of Buganda.

Before Omucwezi Kato rebelled, Muhwahwa was a mere small (muwawa)county of Kitara Empire, today's Bunyoro-Kitara. When he rebelled he sent a message to his twin brother and told him, "nyowe tinkyagruka mezere nk'omutoma', meaning, Me I will not come back I have germinate like a sap tree(omutoma). Hence he got his compound name, Kato Kimera( kimera is a Kinyoro word meaning to germinate.

So, Muwawa county was part of Kitara Empire which had been in existence for over 1000 years.

The dynasities were as follows.
 1. Abatembuzi , 27 kings

2. Abacwezi 3 kings( Isingoma Rukidi Mpuuga..twin brother to Kato-Kimera) Mulindwa and Wamara), a man called Bukuku sat on the Kitara throne but he was e mere caretaker...he was not of royal blood)

3. Ababiito, today are the ruling  dynasties in Bunyoro-Kitara, Tooro, Buganda, Ankole and Busoga.

So, if you had been ignorantly innocent, those are the facts. Buganda, formerly known as Muhwaahwa, was a mere county of Bunyoro-Kitarta Empire, hence it cannot be the oldest kingdom in Uganda.
