Call for Human Rights Watch To investigate Kasese Murders.

This Petition calls for Human Rights Organisations like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International to investigate the Kasese Killings. Government of Uganda officials have come out to make questionable statements that the Army and Police acted in self defence when they were attacked by civilians armed with Machetes and Spears. This is contrary to a video at the scene which clearly shows a police officer at the rank of ASP moving forward as he shoots in the air, other officers cheer him in Swahili language commonly used to scare people. Two gentlemen got agitated with this and decided to abandon watching the action by attacking police that was not prepared to engage civilians as required by law. The army and police shoot straight at unarmed civilians and killed them instantly. Ugandans are aware that these civilians may have errored in judgement but this did not warrant execution or extra judicial killings. Having had pre-statements issued by responsible government officials in support of these inhuman and seemingly unprofessional acts, we believe government can no longer institute fair investigations in this matter, any attempt to investigate will only be trying to cover the truth to march these statements By signing this petition we need more balanced and credible bodies to investigate the matter and bring it to rest as we serve justice to the victims and families of these people.
