{UAH} MATHIAS NSUBUGA HAS BEEN A NATIONAL HERO

MATHIIAS NSUBUGA HAD NO GRUDGES
Fellow countrymen and countrywomen even when, l and a section of NRM
Buganda Regional Task Force led by Al Haji Abdul Nadduli camped in
Bukoto South to campaign for now Ambassador Alintuma Nsambu, the NRM
flag bearer against Hon. Mathias Birekerawo Nsubuga, who was the DP
flag bearer, the latter's anger towards me was temporary during a bye
election period, and after, we met at Parliament and he criticized me
as criticizing his brother who had betrayed him for a political party,
and ever since we became friends again.
Such was Mathias Nsubuga, who was a friend to almost all. He could not
fell ashamed to publicly credit Amin for creating Uganda Airlines
Corporation and purchasing for it flag carriers, which succeeding
governments failed to maintain.
He has been proud of having an active player in the liberation
struggle against Obote fascism, basing in the external wing where
there wee likes of Dr.Samson Kiseeka,Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Kirunda
Kivejinja, Amama Mbabazi, Sam Njuba, ABU MAYANJA, DR. Sulaiman
Kiggundu, Besuel Mulondo, Adoko Nekyon, Abu Mayanja, George
Kanyeihamba, Patrick Kiggundu, Akbar Adoko Nekyon, Jack Sabiiti, among
others.
Nsubuga was one of the people that encouraged me to join active
politics although he preferred me to stand in Mawogola where l was
born, or in Bukomansimbi where l will be buried.However l preferred
Makindye Ssaabagabo Municipality where l reside. Even then, he was
quietly supporting me.
He has died at a time when FDC was storming out of IPOD over what it
calls, NRM arrogance or majority dictatorship without considering
minority's interests, whereas he wanted all stake holders in
parliament to pull together for constitutional and electoral reforms
before 2021 general elections.
If it is the will of God, the DP Secretary General will be long spoken
about. Rest In Peace.
