The Chairman of the SE Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Eberechi Dick, has dissociated himself and other SE monarchs from the ongoing Biafra struggle.
Eze Eberechi and other Igbo Monarchs had met with President Buhari few days ago.
According to Eze Eberechi, "On the issue of Biafran Republic, we have continued to engage and preach to the IPOB members.
"We have told them that every problem of the nation can be best resolved through peaceful dialogue.
"We assure Your Excellency of our total belief in one united and indivisible great nation of ours called Nigeria.
"We also want to call the attention of FG to some of their (IPOB) mentioned grievances for serious considerations.
"Their agitations include neglect of the South-East in the Amnesty Program.
"They have complained of deplorable state of federal roads and other infrastructure in the South-East too.
They Monarchs also called the President's attention to the activities of herdsmen posing serious security challenges to the region.
To this, the president responded saying he'd heard their complaints and he was "Very conscious of the sensitivities of the South-East people."
He said the question of carving another country out of Nigeria was misplaced.
"The question of having another country out of Nigeria is going to be very difficult.
"From 1914, we have more than 200 cultures living with one another.
"God had endowed this country with natural resources and talented people.

"We should concentrate on these and be very productive," the President said.
"But advise your children to perish the idea of Biafra. It will never happen. It can only happen after I die."
"We have managed to calm down the North-East. We will also calm the south-East and South-South.
The president also commended his administration for the war against corruption in the judiciary.
"We are asking the judiciary to clean itself. Nigerians are tired of waiting. They want some actions," he said.
