{UAH} Simon: professional army: UPDF Soldier Killed in Mobile Money Robbery

A UPDF soldier at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel was on Christmas day clobbered to death after being suspected of trying to rob a mobile money agent, ChimpReports has learnt.
According to the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Paul Kangave, the incident happened at around 9:00am when a one Keba Nekepere tried to rob a mobile money agent Shs500,000 at Nantabuulirirwa, in Mukono town council.
"He tried to force the mobile money agent to send the money onto his phone prompting the lady to make an alarm," Kangave told this website.
"The big alarm attracted residents who clobbered him to death immediately and by the time police arrived, they could not save anything."
Kangave said that on searching him, police found the deceased with a pistol and a UPDF identity card indicating that he was at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel but said they will do investigations to find out if the particulars including the rank are not fake.
The Deputy Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area said that there were other incidents throughout the Christmas day including a 26 year old who was knocked dead at Katwe.
"A lady identified as Robinah Naluwu driving a Rav 4 knocked a father and his son, killing the former instantly,"Kangave said.
He also said that another man identified as Mathias Mutongole in Kyengera was found dead stressing that initial investigations have found out that he could have died due to alcohol.
The police mouthpiece however said there were no major incidents in the Kampala Metropolitan area, a factor he attributed to the fact that many people had gone to enjoy Christmas day with their families in the villages
