SV: {UAH} Opinion: Gambia's New Dawn!
YES, Adam Barrow had been voted to Lead the Gambia I hope,
First let me hope Adam Barrow, the new Gambia leader would not become a ruler of the Gambian folks. His success for coming to power must be due to the strong stands of the Nigerian political leadership under Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS), regional group of 16 countries founded in 1975. In the East African Community (EAC) countries, which was first founded in 1967 and pioneered by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania with clear objectives of democratic development but only sabotaged by the Cold war and dissolved in 1977.
Second, on the issue of success of the Gambian crisis, thanks must be given to Gen Buhari, the President of Nigeria who has become the leading political and military weight to pushed Yahya Jammeh aside. In the East African region, I think it is Tanzania which has the military capacity and political weight to lead our region if any political crisis were to arise.
I think both M7 and Uhuru Kenyatta are just shallow politicians without complete visions for the whole East African region. They are single ethnic syndrome rulers who see their countries in their tribal prism identities but not under the whole collective paradigm. Tanzania did it part in stopping AMIN in Uganda in the late 1970s, but Ugandans failed in their own dubious ethnic majority syndrome that brought M7 to power due to the political divides of North versus South populism.
Lastly, the political ethnic majority syndrome had been the very political licence for the entrenchment of the 33 plus years of M7 regime in Uganda without any clear service deliveries doctrine for the whole Ugandans, but just massive corruption in the country. Let us hope Adam Barrow would be the true Gambian leader but not a ruler without vision whereby his political opponents who opposed Yahya Jammeh would not be chaotic like our Uganda political oppositions to NRA/M7 those could not elect their own leaderships but just squabbling. See in UPC, in DP and even among young FDC whereby Besigye cannot give complete endorsement to MUNTU!

As we can finally congratulate Gambians for standing firm during these trying times, I also have to commend West African states for the rare display of unity and determination under their umbrella organization ECOWAS.
All African regional organizations (including the African Union) must henceforth live up to those standards. Resolutely standing behind the people rather than constantly seeking impunity for any one of their own.
Africa must not let this shining example become selective action but rather standard procedure based on the principals enumerated.
Many African men, women and youths across the continent have regained hope for a better Africa and should not be let down tomorrow by any clinging leaders and/or impotent institutions that excel in lip service and false hopes.
