Former vocal KCCA councilor Bernard Luyiga now an office messenger for Nakawa Mayor

Bernard Luyiga the once very promising and vibrant politician in Kampala reportedly fell on hard times and is now reportedly an office messenger in the Office of the Division mayor of Nakawa.

Luyiga who was representing Makerere University at City Hall since 2006, aspired to be Deputy Lord Mayor and when Erias Lukwago refused to appoint him in favour of fellow Muslim Suleiman Kidandala.

News website thespearnews.com opened a lid in their series "USED and Dumped", saying Mr Luyiga was an office assistant in Nakawa mayor Ronald Balimwezo's office.

Luyiga confirmed he worked in Balimwezo's office, however, he said his job title is "Office Administrative Officer". However he could not tell us whether his job was different from that of the Office Assistant.

Luyiga turned against Lukwago after the Lord Mayor backtracked on the promise to appoint Luyiga his deputy.
Luyiga revenged by working closely with the KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi and then Kampala minister Frank Tumwebaze to undermine Lukwago.

Luyiga would join NRM and DP councillors to impeach the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in 2013 after his group got facilitation from government.
