Dear Mr Okelld,

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 21-22 January. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.





London Underground


We are undertaking a comprehensive improvement programme across London's transport network, including the modernisation of the Tube.


Central line
Bond Street station will close at 01:30 on Sunday morning and trains will not stop for the remainder of the day for station improvement work.

Jubilee line
There will be no service between Waterloo and Wembley Park on Saturday and Sunday. This is while we carry out track and drainage replacement work between Finchley Road and Wembley Park.

From 01:30 until 04:50 on Saturday, there will be no Night Tube service from Waterloo to Stanmore. Additionally, Bond Street will close at 01:30 on Sunday, and trains will not stop for the remainder of the day. This is for station improvement work.

Metropolitan line
Trains will not run between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill while we carry out track and drainage replacement work between Finchley Road and Wembley Park.




London Overground


All weekend, there will be no service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction. This is while Network Rail carry out infrastructure work.

On Sunday trains will not run between Sydenham and Crystal Palace, while Network Rail carry out track work.

There is no service between Gospel Oak and Barking until late February. This is while Network Rail carry out major works to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018. For more information, please click here

TfL Rail


Trains will not run between Gidea Park and Shenfield after 23:00 on Sunday. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.

There is no service between Brentwood and Shenfield until late May. This is while Network Rail carry out major work at Shenfield to upgrade tracks, signalling and overhead lines.

Buses


Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

Central London
From Saturday until late November there will be various restrictions in place while Cambridge Circus regeneration scheme works take place. From 08:00 on Saturday until 21:00 on Sunday, Charing Cross Road will be closed southbound between Denmark Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. For a list of closure dates and locations, please click here

Wandsworth
Until early March, there are various lane restrictions in place in the area including on Wandsworth Plain, Armoury Way and Ram Street. This is due to utility collaboration works.

City of London
From 15:00 until 20:00 today, Thursday, extensive road closures will be in place in the area. This is due to a demonstration taking place at Bank junction. Additional demonstrations are due to take place between 15:00 and 20:00 tomorrow, Friday.

Westminster
From 12:00 until 17:00 on Saturday, road closures will be in place including on Grosvenor Square, Trafalgar Square, Park Lane, Hyde Park Corner, Piccadilly, Pall Mall and Pall Mall East. This is due to a march.

West London
Until late March, there are temporary traffic signals and lane restrictions in both directions on the A4 Cromwell Road, at the Ashburn Place junction. This to allow for cycle grid works.

West London
From 23:30 on Monday 23 January until late April, a contraflow and lane restrictions will be in place on Chelsea Embankment, from Chelsea Bridge to Embankment Gardens. This is due to utility and Thames Tideway works.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Central London

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
  Broadwick Street, Melton Street and Strata for utility works
  Kingsway, for repair works
  South Quay West, Wansey Street, Cardinal Place and Bourne Street, for building works
  Westfield Eastern Access Road, for site development
  Cadogan Place, for paving
