{UAH} Mr EMMANUEL BAGUMA (RIP)

Mr Emmanuel Baguma, a longtime resident of Woolwich, a small town in the London Borough of Greenwich, UK was buried over the weekend in his ancestral village in Kabale in Kigezi district, Uganda. Mr Baguma's body was discovered in his flat by friends after almost three weeks after he died. He suffered from epilepsy and had recently separated from his family, and so lived alone, factors that may have contributed to him unexpected death.

Mr Baguma's family extend their heartfelt thanks to all the people of Woolwich who have supported and continue to support them in this time of loss and grief.

I would also like to extend my gratitude and thanks to the good Ugandan people of Woolwich. You are a shining example of the new Uganda we want to build. You have allowed LOVE and COMPASSION to rise above HATE, TRIBAL BIGOTRY and XENOPHOBIA.   The hands of friendship you extend to any Ugandan in need is testimony to the green shoots of recovery that is sprouting all over our country despite, or because,  of nearly three decades of darkness and despair. I salute you all for the HOPE and INSPIRATION you give to ALL Ugandans in the diaspora.

Rest in Peace my friend Emmy Baguma (nice to have known you for 20 years- and to have shared many a pint in the process!).

Bobby
