{UAH} AMIN: PAN-AFRICAN, BLACK NATIONALIST
Photo: President Amin in a fun boxing bout with a British journalist. Amin was demonized for his pan-african struggle against neo-colonialism in Africa.
This was because of his policy to support the economic emancipation of the indeginous black people of Uganda, and those suffering racism and segregation in South Africa and America.
Dennis Hills Quote: "Idi Amin's nationalist economic leadership has won him many admirers in Africa. He has successful qualities: Personal strength and courage. He is an African reality. He has realized an African dream. The creation of a truly black state and a truly black economy. He has called into being a new vigorous middle class of African technicians and businessmen."
This statement wasn't by an Amin apologist. It was by British resident Dennis Hills in a 1975 interview upon returning to London after he was released by President Idi Amin for maliciously slandering his name. Unlike many since, Mr. Hills who recently passed away at the age of 90, apologized for the deliberate public insults, deliberate misinformation and vicious mockery towards Amin.
Todays Ugandan youths yearn for more knowledge about their President. The true story. What kind of patriot and pan-africanist leader Field Marshal Idi Amin was.
