Dr. Margaret Mungherera passes away in India

The Former President of the World Medical Association and Uganda Medical Association Dr. Margaret Mungherera has today passed away after along standing battle with cancer.

The Former President of the World Medical Association and Uganda Medical Association Dr. Margaret Mungherera has today passed away after along standing battle with cancer.

Mungherera who passed away in India, was also a senior consultant psychiatrist at Mulago Referral Hospital and a former registrar at Butabika Hospital. She was the first Ugandan to to serve as the President of the World Medical Association a position she held from October 2013- October 2014 before retiring from Public Office in 2015.

Mungherera who passed away at the age of 59 has been an outspoken advocate for better conditions and pay for doctor's and health workers and also an advocate for the rights of children.

Members of the Uganda Medical Association and have expressed their grief for the Loss of Dr. Margaret Mungherera
