{UAH} Fw: George - Supply Teacher Open Registration Day

To ALL

I have decided to become a teacher (part-time), to see if I will like it. My teaching experience is really very limited- I think to less than one year to be precise, when I taught English, History and Literature to secondary school students during my University vacations, and as a Teaching Assistant at the Makerere University Law School. But this brief experience was really the most satisfying of my entire life-work experience and I have never lost my love affair with teaching. I love teaching and imparting knowledge to others. I feel I have so much knowledge and expertise in nearly every subject  that is lying redundant in my mind  and I need to find an outlet for passing them on.

I am not the first one to take this course of action. So many UK professionals have agreed to take the challenge of teaching our secondary school students. I have a 15-hour working day, and I think I can comfortably accommodate 3 hours a day dedicated to teaching. The pay is really minimal, but the job satisfaction is what I am looking forward to.  And an opportunity to contribute to learning, education, and human civilisation.

As I want to be happy and fulfilled for the remaining years of my life, I take comfort from these immortal words of the great philosopher Karl Marx

If we have chosen the position in life in which we can most of all work for mankind, no burdens can bow us down, because they are sacrifices for the benefit of all; then we shall experience no petty, limited, selfish joy, but our happiness will belong to millions, our deeds will live on quietly but perpetually at work, and over our ashes will be shed the hot tears of noble people.

Marx, Reflections of a Young Man (1835)

History calls those men the greatest who have ennobled themselves by working for the common good; experience acclaims as happiest the man who has made the greatest number of people happy.

Marx, Reflections of a Young Man (1835)
