{UAH} Africa Live: SA man and pregnant fiancee locked up in UAE

Robert Atuhairew,

One of the greatest gifts the British have given the world is the Principle of The Rule Of Law. Most nations of the world today subscribe to this principle, which has by and large saved humanity from the law of the jungle- but not so many muslim countries, who still submit to and apply the so-called Sharia Law as you can read below. In your view, are the edicts of the Sharia  really "law"  as we understand it, or are they just just a bunch of medieval barbarous pronouncements that pander to the lowest of human heartlessness? I  told you how I once went to Saudi Arabia to represent the widow of the late General Numierey, late President of Sudan, in a dispute over the distribution of his estate, some of which was in Saudi Arabia. We walked out of the court when told Sharia  law was going to be applied, and instead took our case to the Egyptian and UK courts where we got some justice. In Saudi Arabia, they were not even willing to recognise the woman as a widow. I told her it was pointless dignifying the process- I told her I would not be a participant in application of the law of the jungle.

Alan Kawesa That's despicable. They were pregnant and couldn't produce a marriage certificate! This Wahabbi savage country and then the US and UK still trade with it just because they have oil and do their dirty work in the region.
