{UAH} Andrew Felix Kaweesi is being universally mourned!
What may have appeared to be a purely local political affair at the
-- beginning is now a global universal event taking to grandiose magnitudes
in leading medias of the world press! Andrew Felix Kaweesa, no matter what
kind of person he has been and what his political inclination has seemed to look like, the fallen senior police officer is now a subject of deep concern on the world scene! His murder has been reported in all leading papers in Europe and America and has also been passed on leading media newreels! And the murder comes as a natural follow up to the very silly brutality the world witnessed on Kasese, a thing now likely to cost much to Uganda as the entire world community is bent on knowing the exact truth about the murders and the action taken against the culprits! Probably it's within this scope of the Mountains of the Moon events that Kaweesi might have been suspected, rightly or wrongly, and made to pay such a stiff price! It's very sad to see three people disappear in one single instant! Among them a poor driver and a poor bodyguard! May God bless these humble souls in his Heavenly Glory! And may He spare no instant in seeing a decent Uganda come to surface for the great good of everyone who wanted to see and live in a very peaceful nation following years of political turbulence! Unfortunately this is now far from being the case as people continue to live under cover of fear and uncertainty for the future of the nation! However the humble population of Uganda shouldn't lose hope as the world is now changing policy on political outlook and would definitely resolve to see a permanently peaceful Uganda playing a good role in a coming great Africa where things like dictatorship under any cover will be looked at and swept away as a real shame ! The brutal murder of a leading police officer, killed in cold blood with two very innocent colleagues, is a shame to the nation and a humiliation to cowardly NRM and its pack of " political babies " always crying for privileges in a country with a meagre budget! NRM is a dead failure because it has failed to produce eminent political personalities to fight all these evils taking place in our land! One of them is in these rampant killings of innocent people! Killings have weakened the regime and strongly tarnished its image in many nations, icluding in Africa! Amin or no Amin, people are still dying and experiencing times of uncertaint y for the future of entire generations!! The world community isn't yet certain about the solidity of peace in Uganda! Some circles look at it as a place not quite stable enough for serious things like heavy investment, now gracefully enjoyed by Tanzania, a country which has kept peace through peaceful change of regime! Many believe Uganda is really in an abrupt need of not only a mere dialogue between government and the opposition but of a real concrete structural full negotiations involving all actors on Uganda including those foreign powers which have to an extent naively built NRM in full ignorance of the existence of the many other relevant institutions which have an effective command and influence over the people of Uganda! The country needs a total overhauling for a permanent renewal in order to have a nation that moves ahead with special pride! No pride in a regime which keeps an eye closed on the killings of the innocent and of important personalities; a regime which has no energy to fight corruption; a regime which has no solutions to things such as land-grabbing, bad planning, cheating at polls, etc... While the people of Uganda are seriously bent on inventing things, programmes, etc.. for the immense good and glory of the nation, it's on the other hand shameful to see such things as bodaboda assassins appearing on our national scene and functioning in full impunity! One can't even count with success the number of our fellow citizens who have lost a life through the very stupid activity of these assassins! And the Government says nothing!!! As it has kept full mum on previous murders so nothing is expected to happen with regard to Kaweesi's horrible murder! Can anyone knowledgeable about our situation conclude and say that Government isn't aware of the existence of these bodaboda murderers? Now Museveni says he recommends the installation of spy security cameras on roads / highways, etc... as a way of fighting against murder, etc.. How far will those cameras be useful in targetting bodaboda assassins? Who will control and report on their regular functioning and findings? Lat's hope that the proposal isn't intended to show to the nation that the bodaboda assassins succeeded to murder Kaweesi and others before him because the nation wasn't equipped with the logistics of the dissuasive security cameras!! Cameras or no cameras the core essence of the murders lies in the responsibility of the authors! And they are the ones to answer the questions ! And not the cameras!
Kaweesi and colleagues in the car have been killed! Condolences especially to their families! One has to think of the kids, for example, who are now deprived of their beloved dads! The widows! And the parents and relatives! To kill a person in Africa is indeed to create an untold number of problems to many people in society and his own immediate circle!
Kaweesi will be remembered for Martyrs Day, the 3rd of June where he would issue to the international news medias a very accurate package of information regarding everything including the vast size of the crowds assembling in Namugongo! He has always been appreciated for this! Some will remember him for his effort to settle land wrangles. To others it's his gently smile which will stay! Good or bad, Kaweesi and colleagues rest in peace. May God bless your souls and grant you full forgiveness for every ill committed!
G.H.K. .
