{UAH} Bamugemereire To Head Commission of Inquiry into Land Matters
Justice Catherine Bamugemereire was yesterday sworn in as the head of the Commission of Inquiry into Land Matters.
The swearing-in ceremony that was presided over by President Museveni was held at Statehouse, Entebbe yesterday.
The commission will mainly focus on tackling numerous land-related complaints from citizens.
Other members on the commission of inquiry are Mary Odupa, Owekitiibwa Robert Sebunya, Joyce Habasa, Rose Nakayi, Fred Ruhindi, George Bagonza, Olive Mukwaya, Ebert Byenkya, Douglas Singiza and John Bosco Rujagaata.
On 8th December last year, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him, under the Commission of Inquiry Act, cap 166, President Museveni issued a Commission of Inquiry referred to as "The Commission of Inquiry into the Effectiveness of the Law and Processes of Land Acquisition, Land Administration, Land Management and Land Registration in Uganda.
