{UAH} LET'S HAVE NEW VILLAGES AND MULUKAS

NEW VILLAGES AND MULUKAS BE CREATED IN DENSELY POPULATED AREAS.
Brothers and sisters, yesterday evening , l was weith Comrade Mugabi, Chairperson of Rakai District on Mugobansonga Program, Radio Bukedde.
The topic was postponement of village and muluka chairpersons and women councils.
We agreed that while postponement of LC I and ll election to October, next financial year, is ugly, it is an opportunity to gazette new villages/zones and parishes/ wards in densely populated areas like Wakiso in Great Kampala/ Greater Mpigi, Jinja in Busoga, and Mbale in Bugisu, sub regions, among others.
For example in my home Masajja Municipal Division, Makindye Ssaabagabo Municipality, our own Masajja Ward is 70,000 strong which should have been a division itself so are Namasuba and Busaabala wards. But due to poor planning, they are all in one division.
In Masajja Kibira Zone, which is between Salaama and Busaabala roads, Mayanja and Kaliddubi streams, we, as citizens, divided it into two, Masajja Kibira A and Masajja Kibira B. But the two remain very big and densely populated and we need another sub division. Unfortunately who cares?
In Makindye Urban Council, Kampala City, the then progressive and visionary RDC Mulowooza, spearheaded the sub division of zones, but he was fought not only by politicians, but also Uganda or Independent Electoral Commission. The politicians wanted to keep the status quo and the IEC wanted not to spend more. But democracy is expensive.
In my home Ssembabule District, we agreed with our MP and Foreign Minister that Mijwala, Lugusuulu, and Lwebitakuli sub counties should be divided into two. Thus Kawanda will become a sub county, independent of Lugusuulu, Mabindo will become s,o independent of Mijwala, Lwebitakuli will become a town council and Nakasenyi becomes a sub county.
Probably Lwemiyaga may also get a town council.
This is the time that may be used for all this.
We should all wake up to jihad/crusade for this noble cause.
