There is also a sense of irrational urgency (punctualism) that has created a fraud elite cum proxy intellectuals. Uganda now believes a fraudulent education system run by business wo/men can deliver them to salvation! This combination is not good when and if the elite (educated can't stand and defend what they believe in or what is scientifically coherent.

A professor told me there was no need to conserve forests!

With NRM, there has emerged a class of rich (?) people by their acts of; extortion, grabbing, fraud, evasion, lawlessness etc – This is dangerous class that could destabilized this country. For them government offices is their business offices, government and public purse is their property.

It is a terrible culture.

These are not comprador-bourgeoisie since their alliance with corporates is through extortion and blantant theft.

 

They assume to have business prowess (through extortionist methods) and using raw power (brute ) and state institutions to gain riches.  Since they have to defend what they have or gained through the above methods they have to rely on state violence or use the state tools  their disposal to protect themselves subsequently militarising Uganda's economy, social life and entire state apparatuses.

Judges, law enforcement, baning managers, some businesses as you can see in Kampala are protected by tools of violence.

 

Amin and Obote never reached that extent!

Now this has become a culture with large section of our youth seeking emplyoment i.e. in law enforcement, joining NRM on non ideological reasons, or on belief that is the only way to make a decent living or survive.

As far as I can observe – that is where Uganda is and it is a grim future!
