LOST LUGGAGE FOR UGANDAN PILGRIMS FOUND

Brothers and sisters, luggage for 50 Ugandan Muslim pilgrims which was
lost in city of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday 4th
September 2016, has been found and will delivered to owners starting
on Monday March 13th 2017.
The luggage was lost when about 100 Ugandan pilgrims jointly sponsored
by President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and President Omar Hassan El
Bashir of the Sudan, were on their way to the Holy City of Media, but
luggage was dispatched for the holy city of Mecca.
Ugandan pilgrims had boarded Ethiopian Airliner and left Entebbe in
the evening of Saturday September 3rd 2016 and efforts were made by
Capt. Abbey Muklwaya, Presidential Special Advisor and head of the
team, President Bashir's Special Envoy, Hjjati Nagiwah Mohammed,
Hajjati Aisha Tezikuba of State House , Dr. Hasssan Waswa Galiwango,
Director of Administration and Finance at NRM Secretariat, Ambassador
Dr.Rashid Ssemuddu, who had been Uganda's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia
and now to Iran, Sudanese embassy officials in Saudi Arabia by
Ugandans' outgoing Ambassador to Saudi Arabia (now incoming ambassador
to Islamic Republic of Iran) Dr. Rashid to ensure that the luggage is
searched AND FOUND.
According to Capt. Mukwaya, at a press conference he held at Plot 10
Kyaddondo Road this afternoon, flanked by Haji Ahmed Kateregga Musaazi
and Hajo Moses Male, luggage was found by a pilgrim, named Mohammed
from Ivory Coast, who saw it in one hotel in Mecca, read some of the
details and found a telephone contact of Hajjati Madina Nsereko, now
Uganda Land Commissioner, and rung her. She also rung Capt. Mukwaya
and efforts were made to ensure the luggage was recovered.
It has handed over to the Sudanese embassy officials, who catered for
this section of Ugandan pilgrims, and later to Ethiopian Airlines,
which brought it back to Entebbe on February 22nd 2017.
Capt. Mukwaya instructed Haji Moses Male to ensure that each claimant
identifies and signs for his or her luggage before it is given to him
or her starting with Monday March 13th 2017.
Among those lost almost everything was Kyankwanzi District NRM
Publicity Secretary Haji Hammin Ssentongo.
Capt. Mukwaya thanked Uganda embassy officials in Saudi Arabia,
Sudanese embassy officials, Hajjati Nagiwah Mohammed and NRM
Secretariat officials led by Dr.Hassan Glaiwango, who have ensured
that the luggage was recovered.
Haji Ahmed Kateregga Musaazi thanked kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its
subjects for their sincerity, and the luggage was found un-tempered
with and called upon Ugandan transporters and passengers to emulate
them so that if one loses an item on board, he or she finds it intact.
Haji Male vowed that starting with Monday, he shall be at Plot No. 10
Kyaddondo Road to deliver lost items to their owners.
