Buganda, a monarchy crumbling under the weight of her own values

The Baganda are undoubtedly very intelligent understanding people with the longest recorded heritage values in Uganda. They are the locus of all political, social and economic life in the current Uganda.

Making or destroying anything in Buganda means destroying it in the rest of Uganda. Obote attacked the Lubiri in Mengo, he dint have to attack any other palaces to do away with Kingdoms.

Whoever wins elections in Buganda, wins Uganda. Whoever has support in Buganda automatically gets it in other parts of Uganda.

The Kingdom has lived together bind by a series of norms and values inclined amongst its people. Tolerance, adaptation and assimilation of any foreigner, giving unanswerable loyalty to the King, respect to elders/leaders and accomodativenes as major binding factors to the over 1000years old Kingdom.

Currently besides the long history and intact cultural norms the Kingdom is crumbling under weight of the same.

Whoever designed a system to destroy this Kingdom must have studied it for so long, studied its core values, its people and the people-leader relationship.

He knew its hard to cause disunity among Baganda and attacking them from any other angle would back-fire as they would fight back as bees.

He then designed strategies that exploits the core strength in their culture and leadership to destroy binding assets and norms.

As the last generation Kattikiro's addresses land as the core Kingdom uniting factor through which the Ssabataka respect can be maintained, Kattikiro Mayiga exploited the Kabaka asimye phrase to make a walk around Baganda'.

KABAKA ASIMYE is restricted to Kabaka's words [by himself] only. Miss-use of this phrase has been traced in:
Mayiga became Katikiro on May 30th 2013, Immediately he took the mace Mayiga chased politicians out of Mengo and replaced them with businessman and dealers.

He went on and collected over 10 billions from Baganda for reconstruction of the Kasubi tombs but up to date accountability for this money is unknown.

He crushed all Buganda youth groups, Nkobazambogo, Bangawa, Ttabamiruka and Buganda national conventions in America. He went on, usurped powers of Abataka, clan heads, the great Buganda Lukiiko and took the Kabaka hostage.

He turned CBS radio a station formed to mobilise and uphold Buganda culture into a conventional radio station hence killing off the cultural element.

He started abominable acts of bringing half dressed musicians in front of Kabaka and other cultural abuse

All these tested Baganda's loyalty and unquestionable respect to its leaders but what stretched it further is when Mayiga attempted to sell off the Lubiri under the guise of getting investors to develop it. This pinched Baganda and rung a wake up bell

In January Mayiga edited the Buganda national anthem and removed the 2patriotic stanza's

which he declared should only be sang once every year in kabaka's presence.

On Tuesday the Kattikiro announced a 49lease to all residents on Kabaka's land.

On that background visa vi the current events the intelligent Baganda see all this they realize that Buganda by now is at a point of destruction in areas of her cultures, norms and land abused.

Concerned Baganda's in all those fields know this but culturally are hand tied to oppose or even talk about the leaders.

It's amazing that besides all what is going on, Buganda is quite. It takes a Muganda courage to even note down such an article well knowing he will have to endure abuse.

With all respect to culture I see Buganda breaking on the weight of cultures unanswerable respect.

The habit of unquestionable loyalty to leaders was very nice when leaders still worked for people, currently the leaders are selfish and all their decisions must not only be questioned but seriously challenged.
