{UAH} French presidential election : a new opinion poll points to surprises!
Emmanuel Macron Jean-Luc Malenchon
With just exactly two weeks to go for the first round of the very highly contested French
presidential election, a new opinion poll published this weekend shows that the four
leading candidates are closing gaps between themselves in whe at may now appear to be a no sure deal for anyone of them although candidate Emmanuel Macron has a slight advantage over the rest of the pack. But the man who is regularly soaring is the populist leftist Jean-Luc Malenchon who within a week has had his fortunes jump by an enviable 4 points to close the week by 19 points, just on par with former rightist premier François Fillon. Centre
leftist Emmanuel Macron is rated on par with extreme rightist Marlène Le Pen, both at just 23 points each.
1- Emmanuel Macron 23%
2- Marlène Le Pen 23%
3- François Fillon 19%
4- Jean-Luc Malenchon 19%
5- Benoît Hamon 09%
Macron and Le Pen are two points behind their last week's rating. Fillon remains stable. And Hamon loses 6 points. His losses are netted by Malenchon who appears to be climbing to a non stop. This experienced statesman, aged 66 and with a formidable charisma coupled with strong oratorical skills has been addressing capacith halls, amphitheatres,etc.. and has been attracting tens of thousands at his rallies. His programme has attracted many voters. He aims at doing away with some european treaties; he is bent on establishing a sixth republic with much accent based on environment and ecology; he is determined and resolved on a minimum wage / salary treatment; he promises to cut down unemployment by creating 3 million jobs; he is going to put an end to a presidential monarchy by bringing the presidency closer to the people; and he wants social security to benefit everyone by covering 100% of the hospital bill; and he is determined on securing all assets hidden in off-shore banks. His campaign slogan is " La France insoumise = The unbridled France! "
Lets watch and see whether he will manage to everwhelm young Emmanuel Macron whom many think he's going to become the next president, even at only 39.
