By Namugerwa Martha
Doctors and nurses are struggling with metal health patients at Jinja referral hospital in Jinja district due to lack of drugs and adequate nurses to attend to the patients.
Judith Alitwala a nurse at theJinja Referral Hospital said that the hospital has very few nurses to attend to the increasing number of patients at the hospital every now and then.
"We need 8 nurses everyday yet we are only 4 which hinder the services and controlling of these metal patients." Alitwala said.
Alitwala further added that the hospital used to receive 20 to 30 patients a day but now they receive 60 patients a day.
"We need injection drugs for the mental patients which are very scarce in this hospital yet they are the most vital and needed drugs for the mental illnesses." Alitwala asserted.
"In tribute to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Uganda, two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife, discrimination and terrorism."
