{UAH} Manchester terror attack......

My sincere condolences to the families and individuals who were involved and caught up in the Manchester terror attack last night in which so far 22 people died and up to 59 are reported injured, many critically.

Terrorism is bad. In January 1981 - just a few weeks after democratic elections, Uganda was engulfed in a war of terror in which thousands were killed. Kampala city, Bombo, Luwero, Mpigi and Mukon towns were all affected.

I recall as an 'A' level student in 1984 narrowly missing - with my colleagues - in a bus along Bombo road. I was vice captain of Kampala district ' 2nd Secondary Schools Athletics Championship' taking place in Gulu. While our students' bus went, the next passenger taxi did not....We returned to Kampala after the competition (which our district won), via Soroti.

While Donald Trump called them 'losers', I would refer to those in Uganda then, losers and cowards. They had lost elections and instead turned on the people. Except they chose to kill and maim - using children also - but dared not 'die' like in 'suicide' attacks.

We mourned alone Uganda but today I mourn with everyone around the world - victims of terror.
