Should diabetic's use honey?
Honey is just another type of sugar, so it should be used with the same care/limitations as sugar. There's no advantage in substituting honey for sugar in a diabetes eating plan. However, natural honey has a very low glycemic index, meaning that it can't/doesn't move glucose into the blood very rapidly.Honey is also reported to contain at nearly 200 different substances, especially antioxidants. Antioxidants are thought to protect against many forms of disease. But as with everything you learn, your body may vary, your response may vary. So,take what you can and leave the rest.
