{UAH} FOUR DISTRICTS FOR WAKISO

CITY STATUS FOR WAKISO NOT ENOUGH
Brothers and sisters, combined population of the seven municipalities
of Moroto, Nakasongola, Jinja,Arua, Fort Portral, Mbale and Hoima is
484,608 yet that of the proposed Entebbe Municipality is 550,000.
Combined with over 500,000 from proposed Wakiso City composed of
Wakiso Town Council, Wakiso Sub County alone over 200,000 and Mende
Sub County which was supposed to be a municipality by the then
Minister for Local Government Adolf Mwesige denied Bannawakiso their
right,Kyengera Town Council which is 200,000 and endorsed for
municipality, and the minister demoted it to a town council status,
and the rest of Busiro East,
Proposed Nabweru City made up of Nansana Municipality and Busiro North
made up of town councils of Kakiri and Namayumba,and sub counties of
Kakiri and Masuuliita, which is over 500,000,
Proposed Kira City made up of Kira Municipality and Kasangati Town
Council, which should also have been a municipality,
there is no doubt that the proposed four cities of Entebbe,
Wakiso,Nabweru and Kira, are justifiable and overdue.
Giving the whole of Wakiso a one city status will be cheating. AT
LEAST, LET'S HAVE FOUR DISTRICTS.
