It is 11 years since the death of senior Musician Jimmy Katumba. Jimmy Katumba died on 13th August 2006 at Mengo Hospital from post surgical complications. Jimmy Katumba who was born to Reverend Blasio Katumba and Alice Nakyagaba started out as a singer of gospel music and rose to fame as the country's premier pop star from the late seventies to the nineties. Among the popular songs he left behind are Twalina Omukwano ne Gufa, Atalina Kigere, Congratulations and Munnyambe Ntuukeyo. He was named the Black Jim Reeves due to his very sweet voice. R.I.P Jimmy Katumba!
