Museveni fires Kabushenga over Sudhir –BoU stories

Hardly days after President Museveni handed a sacking letter to Energy PS Stephen Isabaliija, seems more heads are going to roll before end of this year.

Sources say that the long-serving CEO of Vision Group, Robert Kabushenga has been notified to plan for his future outside the media house.

Reliable sources indicate that President Museveni is very bitter with Kabushenga and his top editorial managers. It is said that around two weeks ago, there was burst-up between Museveni and other individuals over the presence of Kabushenga at Vision.

The President was bitter that Vision had continued to give deep coverage to the story between Bank of Uganda and business mogul Sudhir Ruparelia. "He (Kabushenga) is giving the country an economic hit," a source quoted the President.

In the previous past Vision has run more than 10 cover stories relating to the takeover of Crane Bank and legal fights between Sudhir and the central bank.

It should be noted that during the 2016 presidential campaigns, it was rumoured that Kabushenga was supporting candidate Amama Mbabazi.

To make matters worse, recently New Vision wrote to the NRM secretariat threatening to sue the ruling party over printing debts to a tune of shs900m.

In layman's language, Kabushenga was literally asking the President to pay him or he drags the head of state to court.

It seems the legal document did not go down well with the chairman of the ruling party.
We shall keep you posted on updates but meanwhile, the mood at in Vision newsrooms is all somber, with many of the high-earners fearing for their lives.

It said so many millions are given out in salaries to idle editors while the foot soldiers remain on pea nuts. Red Pepper last year broke a story of many of the senior editors at Vision taking home tens of millions.--
Allaah gives the best to those who leave the choice to Him."And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things." (6:17)
