{UAH} Panic As Mbabazi Relocates Businesses To Zambia, Malawi

Former presidential hopeful and Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has relocated part of his businesses from the country to other African countries, this website understands.

According to a highly placed source close to Mbabazi, some of the businesses he has closed their operations in Uganda are two of his transporting companies AMA Transporters Company Ltd and AJ Investments Ltd.

"The companies are now operating from Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique". A close family friend told us.

It is indicated that hundreds of Mbabazi's Lorries and trailers were all supplied by Gordon Wavamuno through his Nakawa based Spear Motors.

Sources intimated to us that Mbabazi while still in government, he invested in the multibillion transporting company which would get lucrative contracts from government.

It is further reported that these trailers would be contracted by government ministries to transport government supplies to different destinations across the country.

Mbabazi had also helped his companies to get contract under Office of the Prime Minister to transport food and others reliefs under ministry of Relief and Disaster Preparedness and the United Nations High Commission For Refugees.

However, Hell block loose when Mbabazi announced his plans to oust his former boss President Museveni during the 2016 presidential elections.

It is revealed that after Mbabazi declared his presidential ambitions, all his contracts were terminated by all government agencies and ministries.

"While he was still in the system his companies were the ones contracted by OPM, and other government ministries but the contracts was terminated after elections and the vehicles had been parked for a long period". This source added.

The source also narrated to us that Mbabazi using connections while he  was still the Ugandan premier, he contacted his friend also Zambian president Edgar Lungu, Malawian president and Mozambique president all his person friends who all gave him green light to go and start businesses in the respective countries.

The trailers were later all relocated to those countries together with their drivers and tonneboys.

Museveni Pleads

We have also established that after Mbabazi relocated his trailers, government got an emergency to transport a consignment of products to different destinations but could not get the transporter with adequate vehicles.

After long period of no delivery, the president inquired as to why the goods were not being delivered to their destinations.

Museveni was also informed that the former Mbabazi had stopped hiring his trailers to the government before the president asked them to plead with him as government looked for another contractor.

"They approached him but he had changed his mind after they terminated his contracts and declined the deal, right now all our employees and the fleets are outside Uganda."

After the 2016 general elections, there was general perception that Mbabazi had so much money accumulated over years of working at the top echelons of government, which gave him global and local business connections.

Whether it is Amama Mbabazi has a lot of money or a myth. What is clear is that this money-talk won Mbabazi a lot of admirers.
