The proposal sounds very romantic.

Congratulations might be in order for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as friends of the couple have claimed the pair have gotten engaged!

Harry is supposed to have popped the question to his famous girlfriend whilst they were on holiday in Botswana.

According the Daily Star, Harry flew Meghan to a secret spot in the bush in Botswana and proposed under the stars.

As the engagement cannot be made official until the Queen gives her blessing, rather than marking the occasion with a traditional ring, the couple are instead now sporting Zulu 'behrothal' bracelets.

Their new bracelets will feature a pattern that marks their status as married.

Harry has reportedly made a £100,000 engagement ring from a piece of his mother Diana's jewellery that he will give to Meghan when the engagement is made official.

A source close to Harry told the Daily Star: "The world is watching, so the royal red tape needs to be adhered to. Meghan won't be landing at Heathrow with a giant rock on her finger."

"Harry's told his friends he's hoping to make the official announcement in September."

"The setting and the bracelets were just so special to Harry. He has always felt close to Diana in Africa and it was she who taught him about the meaning of the tribal beads as she spent so much time there."

"Harry feels like he can be himself in Africa and the whole proposal was the private, free and expressive moment he had hoped for – made all the more so by keeping it as 'their secret' for a few weeks."

Although there is a royal tradition of dating for two years before an engagement, Harry is said to have broken this so as to ensure Prince Philip would see their marriage.
