Three-Time Presidential Candidate, Bwanika Predicts M7 Death

Ps Abed Bwanika has prophesied the death of President YK Museveni, a man he has unsuccessfully politically competed with now in three major presidential elections.

Bwanika, who ministers at a Ntinda Balokole Church, made what he claimed to be his divinely-inspired pronouncement on Saturday while speaking on CBS Radio's Kiriza oba gana program. He was hosted by Med Nsereko along with ex-Kyaddondo North MP Robert Sebunya. The discussion was on allegations that the President's handlers were using his disputed baptism date and much discussed date of birth to prolong his stay in power with a view of orchestrating life presidency.

"They [Musevenists] are wasting their time because there is another limit which they won't have control over. I'm saddened that a whole church of Uganda Bishop can be part of the comedy trying to deceive our people that President Museveni is actually younger than previously thought. Let me tell you as a man of God what I'm seeing in the spiritual realm. It's something we have been praying about for God to reveal it to us and it's very clear that man [Museveni] will die the moment he clocks 80. They can keep fidgeting to edit his actual age but God has decreed he won't go beyond 80," Bwanika said adding that "Bwana Meddie just record me properly because when that day comes I will be there saying I said so."

He maintained he isn't a false prophet like many others in the city who have made politically-oriented prophesies that never came to pass. This was perhaps in reference to Ps Robert Kayanja who implicitly prophesied presidential candidate Kizza Besigye's death in 2006 which never came to pass. The moderator tried to shut up Bwanika but the preacher-turned politician insisted "I know what I'm talking about and I will soon be exonerated when it happens."

Sebunya who belongs to NRM defended the President and dismissed Bwanika as a fake prophet. "If he isn't a fake prophet how come he hasn't been able to prophesy certain things including his [Bwanika's] miserable defeat each time he stands?" Sebunya wondered. He also challenged Bwanika to prophesy on many other things including how the debate on proposed amendments of land and age limit provisions will end. Bwanika insisted:

"Bwana Meddie you know where I come from on the Kampala-Masaka highway. Our ancestral home on the high way and I have already determined where I will be standing to witness the long convoys going for his [Museveni's] burial." Bwanika maintained his prophesy will most likely be misunderstood by many "because it's not easy to comprehend these deeply spiritual things."

The PDP president has always been accepted even by those in NRM for being sober-minded and it remains to be seen how Museveni enthusiasts will be reacting to this very frightening prophesy. Museveni has previously spoken out attributing his long life to healthy living and not just luck as some have previously argued.

He is known for carefully watching what he eats, drinks and when and is also addicted to working out to ensure he keeps physically fit. He also believes in preventive medicine as opposed to seeking treatment after falling sick. He publicly made all these points as he eulogized both ex-CDF Aronda Nyakayirima and childhood buddy Eriya Kategaya at Kololo Airstrip.
