Imminent terror attack thwarted in Nice – 10 Muslim terrorists arrested in France and Switzerland

At least ten Muslim terrorists have been arrested by counter-terrorism police in raids in France and Switzerland.

Local media report that plans for an attack on the French Riviera city of Nice were foiled; this is where 86 people died in a truck attack last year.

Today's raids took place in Paris and the country's southeastern region, as well as in Switzerland.

André Marty at the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland said: "We would like to understand the connection and relation between the arrested people in France and the one in Switzerland. This is what this investigation wants to find out."

Those arrested are aged between 18 and 65.

A 27-year-old Muslim terrorist arrested in Switzerland was in contact with a 14-year-old French-Muslim teen-terrorist who was "about to carry out the attack," one of the sources said.

The Muslim teen-terrorist was arrested in the Paris region on June 20 and charged by an anti-terror judge, the sources said.

A photo of the teen-terrorist holding a paper vowing his allegiance to ISIS was found on social media, they added.

The Swiss terrorist was "particularly active on social networks… and he had contacts with individuals living in France with whom he notably discussed
violent actions," a judicial source said.

The raids come just a week after France beefed up its national security laws in the wake of a series of deadly terror attacks.
