Uganda police's image damaged by increasing criminal activity in the country - Report

During the launch of the report published by Human rights Network Uganda, Patrick Maine the coordinator Human Rights Law Program attributed the bad perception about police on the increased levels of criminality in the country particularly gun violence and the emergence of criminal gangs.

A section of the public believes the police force has relatively changed how they exercise their duty of protecting life and property as enshrined in the constitution.

This is according to a report published by the Human rights network of Uganda.

During the launch of the report published by Human rights Network Uganda, Patrick Maine the coordinator Human Rights Law Program attributed the bad perception about police on the increased levels of criminality in the country particularly gun violence and the emergence of criminal gangs.

Some of the discussants recommended a complete reform of the police to change from being a force to a service.

However, the research conducted by Human Rights Network Uganda shows that there is a drastic change in public perception about police.
