{UAH} "ANDREW MWENDA LEAVE DR BESIGYE ALONE."

"ANDREW MWENDA LEAVE DR BESIGYE ALONE."
Hon. Odonga Otto.

Andrew, your persistent attack on Besigye and team is not a surprise. It's almost a litany, only with dates and figures changed. Let me grace your article by responding to the issue you raised:

On the age of 75 years, you feign amnesia that the retirement age of civil servants is 60 years. The examples of President Trump and that of Zambia do not apply because they have not been Presidents for ages like President Museveni for the last 3 decades. The law of diminishing returns is very much applicable in the Ugandan case.
On the nation wide campaign to stop the rape of the Constitution: Andrew Mwenda, your support for President Museveni, with those cooked statistics from a department in State House, could only be premised on the fact that he is your region mate and you benefit from his rule as a region. Your personal business(s) should be benefiting from proximity to the State kitchen as well not to mention your sister Hon.Muhanga who should have sold all goats in uganda to buy UBC land and is walking court free 'for now'
As for the tarmac roads over 55% of all tarmac roads in uganda last year where in western uganda per UNRA reports. Uganda Railways has all but collasped, Kilembe mines is a shadow of it's former self, UEB was sold to a 99% South African government enterprise, AGOA is surviving only in the archives of the New Vision, we have a dysfunctional pension and veterans system where many elders are dying without Pay, a collapsed civil service that concentrates on enforcing the dress code rather than more serious issues. Government land in Nsambya, Nakawa and CMI land was sold to private individuals and yet Government continues to rent office space.

Capital Hill in Malawi is a good example of what Government should have done with it's prime land.

The high rates of deforestation for charcoal and the unwillingness of government to zero rate taxes on gas makes the situation worse. Uganda is the next desert in waiting. Even the meteorological department has failed to predict Uganda's weather accurately most times.
Andrew Mwenda, with all these issues, it's only a person who is dead, neck upwards can say all is well with President Museveni's regime.
Mwenda, can you tell me what is left of Uganda for President Museveni to bequeath to Besigye or anyone else?

You brag of UPDF being everywhere. Atleast your journalistic eye has helped me know that the UPDF is in Mali without the approval of Parliament. You and/or your people may have to answer some few questions. How can "other people's children" be ferried abroad contrary to the law?Not withstanding "the UPDF is overstteched" say Gen.muntu.All history teaches us well the implication of demobilizing such a force -automatic regime change ,so its a catch 22 situation for President Museveni they would rather stay where they are.
President Museveni's real success story should not be how long he has held power by positioning his kinsmen in key positions including you Mwenda in the propaganda and intelligentsia machinery, but rather on how much progress Uganda has made with this so called "relative peace".

All these problems are not personally tied to a Medical Doctor called Besigye but to President Museveni failures . Dr. Besigye has given his life for a cause that many people believe in.I dont think its a sugar candy struggle for him being arrested over 1200 times but rather a personal sacrifice. His "failures" is not personal but that of the 2 million Ugandans in and around Wakiso that you are blaming Besigye for having not led to the"slaughter house" on the day the Constitution was being amended. You must be a sadist Mwenda.

Let the NRM keep Museveni in power for over 30 years as you have stated but they have finally stepped on a landmine. The lifting of the presidential age limit has finally exposed President Museveni in the eyes of most Ugandans even those who cannot write their names. We need no other level of exposure or lecture about Uganda, not even your seemingly paid up articles.

It's just a matter of time, a time bomb or rather a sleeping volcano. As i wind up my five day tour of Western Uganda, I can say without any grain of doubt in my mind that President Museveni's departure, in whichever way, will be celebrated by most Ugandans.
Happy New Year to you too, Mwenda! And please in the new year focus on getting your own children and leave Besigye alone.
