Police in Kalungu District are investigating circumstances under which a mob attacked and killed a man on allegations of stealing a cow.

It is alleged that Asuman Mutumba , a resident of Birongo Village in Lwabenge Sub County in Kalungu District was on Wednesday caught red-handed at Simon Peter Kalanzi's kraal trying to steal his cattle which prompted the mob to attack him.

The deceased was operating a meat stall in the area, according to the area sub county representative Godfrey Mugabo.
Lameck Kigozi, the Southern Regional Police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying that mob cut the deceased's throat with a sharp object that led him to lose a lot of blood that led to his death.
