{UAH} Letter to my dear president.

I am glad to hear that you are still willing to continue sacrificing for your country. But let me put it to you that the greatest sacrifice you can give your nation is to close your ears to self seekers and test what kind of leaders your 32 plus years have produced, by retiring and letting them prove their worth . One is tempted to think you realise you have failed to nurture leaders and must shed your skin and come back again and again with new excuses for your continued stay as you fiddle and tinker about.
Lee Kwan Yew you are not nor near being.  Accept it.  Own up, move on. The fact that you are now engaged in verbal gymnastics to extend your stay well beyond the time you had thought you needed to get your agenda set (as proven by the term limits and age limits, you, repeat, you, signed into our constitution), is a clear indication that you didn't know what you were doing and are now just in an exercise of just hanging around experimenting as you churn out questionable elections from a "pet" electoral commission. I honestly can't fathom how you look at yourself in a mirror, when you think of yourself the revolutionary who gave Ugandans hope that they would have true democracy,  and now this thing we are witnessing:  Rigged elections; cadre judges (what a misnomer!); soldiers in parliament (even "the swine" Obote and Amin in didn't stoop this low); kidnappings by security operatives who deny then produce the victims after the times stipulated by law; twisting the country's supreme law just so you can continue your trial and error (PAP, PEAP Entadikwa, kulumbeka, wealth creation, vision 2040 {which you think is so far but is closing in on you}, etc). When will you realise that given the years you have been given, the goodwill and docility of Ugandans, and wonderful health from the almighty that you should have done a lot better and that if democracy is given a real chance (not this half baked monstrosity you half offer up {you have even selectively failed to hold elections for what you used to fondly call the basic unit of democracy the local council for ages!!}), that from among our 35 million plus Ugandans we will definately get better leaders than you (no doubt about it especially if we allow all our institutions to work as envisaged by our constitution) John the baptist was not the Messiah, he just prepared the way.  You don't seem to be our Messiah.  Dont block the way for Uganda to find her true Messiah/s.  Where we deceived by you and this is what you always were? If not, will the real Museveni stand up and let my people go?!

Paget Kintu.
