6.22 PM: Speaker Kadaga suspends rule that gives MPs 3 days to understand a new bill, tells MPs to continue debating
Parliament has suspended rule 201 (2) which gives MPs at least 3 days to acquaint themselves with a new Bill before debating it on the floor.
This means MPs will be able to debate the Hon. Raphael Magyezi's constitutional amendment and pass it if they want to.
When asked by worker's Hon Sam Lyomoki how they should debate now that the rules have been suspended, the speaker insisted they should just continue with the debate

4.45PM: I did not sign Hon Amoding's Minority report, process was illegal, Says MP Ssemuju Nganda
Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda has denied claims by Hon Monica Amoding that he signed on the Minority report she is presenting before parliament.
Through his twitter handle, Ssemijju says that the whole process was illegal, and he, therefore, refused to sign on both the majority and the minority reports that were produced the Legal and Parliamentary affair's committee at the end of its public hearings.

3.50 PM: Election of East African Legislative Assembly speaker postponed to Tuesday
The election for the speaker of the East African legislative assembly has been postponed to Tuesday, this came after a dramatic twist in which Tanzania and Burundi presented a candidate to compete for the speaker's position.
There is an unwritten rule that makes the position of the speaker of the EastAfrican legislative assembly rotational, and this time it was Rwanda's turn to produce a speaker.
However, Burundi and Tanzania candidates didn't return after presenting their names.

3.31 PM: Opposition MPs walk out of Age limit proceedings, accuse speaker Kadaga of Bias
Opposition MPs who walked out of the age limit debate have accused the speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga of being biased.
Led by the leader of opposition Hon Winnie Kiiza, the MPs walked out after the speaker refused to rescind her decision to suspend some members of the opposition.

2.00 PM: Rwanda, Burundi bad blood threatens to derail East African Legislative Assembly agenda
News that both Burundi and Tanzania are presenting candidates for the position of speaker of the East African legislative assembly, is threatening to derail the agenda of the house.
According to a gentleman's agreement between the members of the East African community, this was Rwanda's turn to produce a speaker for the house, and Hon Martin Ngago was presented to that effect.
However, Burundi and Rwanda's bad blood appears to have spilt into the house, and Burundi is now also presenting Hon. Leontina Nzeyimana for the position of speaker.
Uganda is backing Rwanda, and Hon Mukasa Mbidde has threatened to block Tanzania and Burundi's candidates.

11:47 am: Speaker Kadaga threatens to suspend 25 MPs again
Kampala: The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has threatened to again suspend the Members of Parliament from Parliament over misconduct.
"The Members who were suspended last time, if they misconduct themselves again, they will be suspended from seven sittings. Seven sittings do run well beyond Christmas. 11:25 am: Museveni warns cultural leaders on partisan politics
Gulu- President Museveni has warned cultural leaders not to engage in active politics for purposes of peace and harmony in the country.
He also cautioned cultural leaders against creating a foundation that grooms politicians.Mr Museveni clarified that while he supported the restoration of cultural institutions, their core purpose was to preserve and promote culture "and not to pave way for political mobilisation,".
"Cultural institutions should not interfere into politics because we already have a lot of politicians.
