{UAH} Neo-Liberal means

Apparently, there's been a lot of 'confusion' about what the term Neo-Liberal means. Particularly from many on the left. I thought I'd chime in with some examples, and observations, that may add clarity.

1. A neoliberal will stay silent on a bank's profiteering off of the poor, but celebrate that very same bank for having a diverse executive board.

2. A neoliberal will silence his/her critique of the Obama Administration's expansion of the War on Terror because Obama held Ramadan dinners, or appointed a Muslim to a White House post.

3. A neoliberal of color offers no robust class critique because race is capital for individual climbing, not a condition prompting collective delivery from systemic poverty and structural racism.

4. A neoliberal of color will readily exchange their skin complexion for monetary/political/professional reward from institutions of power, who capitalize on a visage of 'progress' to entrench the status quo.

5. A neoliberal will rush to celebrate the first Muslim/Black/Latinx/Asian/LGBTQ president/CEO/news anchor/doll but remain hush (or even complicit) in the very policies that ravage those groups. When doing both is possible.

6. A neoliberal will claim, "I don't even know what neoliberal means," but can meticulously define 'neoconservative," a fixture in his/her lexicon for more than a decade.

7. A neoliberal will publicly condemn gentrification, but privately call said community "ghetto" and only frequent, hang out and spend money there when its adequately gentrified.

8. A neoliberal, most fundamentally, is wed to the conjoined enterprises of unrelenting capitalism and surface diversity, at the expense of remedial measures for the poor, and most saliently, poor people of color.

(Just some bars from a longer verse)
