SV: {UAH} What Price - Bride Price? full documentary

Okeya Petero and UAH folks,

I am really opposed to the issue of Bride Price because one cannot buy LOVE! To me LOVE IS LOVE and not ITEMS on sale. The issue of using some cover languages of Hoo gifts and, or presents to the mother in laws, Aunties, uncles etal, I think are different things and as such should not be included on the infamous Bride Price!

For example, my late father told me he paid 1 bull and 1 calf plus 8 Uganda Shillings of which 3 Uganda Shillings to the Parish Chief Headquarter for registration some years ago when married my late mother. This means, the parents of my mother got the two animals and 5 Uganda Shillings. This was some years ago in the 1940s!

But, I protested by telling my late father that it was not good because one cannot paid for LOVE because LOVE is bigger than any amount. I told, him that my children would be bought like ITEMS ON SALE. Not very long and after much talks with my old dad for some years, I came the complete conclusion that there will not be any bride price for my girls.

I think, the best thing in marriages must be living in peace with one person who felt in LOVE with any of my daughters are paramount in marriages. I feel, we are not in the days of my late parents in the1940s, this is a different era and I belief Bride Price should be written in the historical records but not to be put into practice any longer.
