{UAH} KAMPALA AS A SPECIAL AREA

The Constitutional Court has ruled that Kampala City is still a
District despite constitutional amendments that elevated it to a
Capital city. In the unanimous judgement of Justices, the election of
FDC's Nabilah Ssempala as the Kampala district woman MP has been
upheld according to New Vision today.
Personally l think that Kampala as a Special Area, should not have
just one district woman MP. Since under NRM constitution, Kampala City
Divisions are districts, each division should have a woman MP. Kampala
is over one and half million people strong and Wakiso, which the
President promised a city status at Kyengera during 2016 elections, is
over two million people. It is unfair to have only one woman MP.
