-- What are your comments on this story? Mind you, I have a daughter of Chinese heritage, so I dont want to hear you say all Chinese cooks, waiters and waitresses should be deported. is there something the local entrepreneurs in Gulu can learn from the Chinese or are they a threat to the scarce employment opportunities available? Should government give work visas to foreigners engaged in the food and entertainment industries?

Chinese residents chat as they wait to be served dinner at the Smiling Panda, a restaurant and club along Princess Road in Gulu, northern Uganda, Feb. 21, 2018.
The majority of the Chinese in Gulu are involved in the infrastructure projects currently underway, chief of which is building a tarmac road network in the town.
Smiling Panda, which marks its first anniversary on Sunday Feb. 25, 2018, is owned by a Chinese national and is among other things the main concern venue in Gulu.
