SOUTH AFRICA - The South Africa-based Ugandan evangelist, Apostle Paul Kamba, is dead. He was yesterday morning gunned down in his office by unknown thugs.

Kamba, who was the senior pastor of Destiny Midwives Christian Centre in Edenvale, South Africa, was rushed to the hospital, but was this morning confirmed dead.

According to Apostle Mondo Mugisha, the lead pastor at the Empowerment Christian Prayer Center International, Kamba who was a close friend was shot twice in the abdomen.

"He had just concluded the morning service and gone to take a break in his office in the company of his wife. But as they were moving out of the office, the gunmen who did not ask for anything like money or other valuables just shot at him," Mugisha said.

Another member of the church said three men and a woman entered the church premises, went to Kamba's office, shot him and fled the scene.

Preparations are being made to have the body flown back to Uganda and burial is set to take place in Bugweri, Iganga district.
