Musician Joseph Mayanja aka Chameleone has stated that "enough is enough" and promised revenge if another musician is attacked or killed recklessly.

Clad in what resembled military outfit, Chameleone spoke at Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio's burial today in Kagga, Nakawuka in Wakiso district saying that it has become a war.

"You want to know why I am dressed like this," he asked. "I am dressed like this because this has become a war," he answered himself.

He said musicians are angry and tired of disrespect and the conditions under which they operate. Chameleone's remarks were greeted with applause and ululations. He spoke in unequivocal voice as he mentioned many musicians who succumbed to clobbering injuries in the recent years.

Chameleone urged journalists to deliver his message to all Ugandans saying that "musicians are tired of disrespect."

He explained why he fought some mourners on Thursday evening during a night vigil at Mowzey's Nevaland Home in Makindye. Trouble started when a phone belonging to Weasel, Mowzey's music partner and Chameleone's brother mysteriously disappeared. He started clobbering people including a local musician called Fik Fameika as he attempted to recover the phone.

Chameleone blamed journalists who were writing what they wanted when he tried to prevent the situation from sprawling out of control. He explained that chaos at musicians' concerts is as a result of disrespect.

Any person who beats musicians, he vowed they will fight back. "We are tired of disrespect," Chameleone repeated again and again amidst cheers.

He also threw jibes at journalists for what he called propagating incorrect information about musicians. But later, Chameleone appealed to journalists to tell Ugandans that musicians are valuable people who deserve respect.
